Officials in the island state are striving to determine a rosy sludge that has appeared on a secluded beach, with some scientists concerned it could be an algae outbreak.

Widespread Appearance On Shore

The magenta-hued slime was found on a portion of a coastal area about 60km south of the city. A like substance has also been recorded on sections of a nearby shore and an additional coastal site.
